Zombies and Thompson M1A1 Animation test 1 - For the mini-game inspired on CoD Zombies and L4D

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog. We are now on July 22 - forth week of this month and past the half of 2020; hoping for the things to get better as the World continues in this fight for survival and to develop a (possible) cure for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sadly I'm going to lay low with Blender in this week for another season of studies for another civil service exam - just for not getting too much rusty with basic knowledge with mathematics, Portuguese (my native language though I only use it more often on TonyLiteraryWorks) and specific knowledge.

For this Blog, I'll bring new renders of the zombies for a mini-game inspired on Call of Duty Zombies and Left 4 Dead; and a short video of my attempt to animate the Thompson M1A1.

In case you missed my previous Blog about the idea I had of a CoD Zombies and L4D mini-game, I'll leave the link here.

A mini-game inspired on Call of Duty Zombies and Left 4 Dead:

Let's begin by showing the new renders of my zombies for the mini-game.

What changed from the last update was: I switched the Diffuse by an Emission. This way, the zombies eyes are now glowing. Since some video games, TV series and movies show their eyes shining in the dark, it becomes more interesting if the player crosses dark or dimly lit places and comes across some of these monsters halfway to the safe house or the end of the journey.

The last four images were rendered from a mini project on Blender of Priscilla and Paige (inspired on The Two Survivors) fighting the zombies with the help of an American armed with a Thompson M1A1 and a German with an StG 44.

And now for the Thompson. I rendered three images while I was working on animating the American iconic SMG.

In case you ask me or inform me about the arm, I reused from one of my Claymore characters - only the arms and hands while the rest of the body was removed for a FPS attempt. I tried to make arms and hands for it, but it didn't resulted in a desired way, so I had to do that.

Since it is my first time making an animation on Blender with some video games and ideas from my mind, the flaws from the process will eventually become evident and I have to rework to correct them.

And now the video. I recorded it with OBS Studio, despite the main computer can't load the animations pretty fast (even not recording) and the full edition has been made on HitFilms. Initially I had no plans to use TonyAnima Projects for hosting this kind of content, but somehow the player on Blogspot is not working - forcing me to use my original channel to host the Thompson animation test and share it here. Alright, I hope you like it.

At moments when I'm not occupied with my studies or I'm resting after a considerable hours of study, I may resume this mini-project and correct the animation sequences.

That's it for today. I hope you enjoy it. I'll be back with more Blogs in this year. I plan to share more artworks and other things I did in my time. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see it. See you next time.
